First elective c section, third girl 😍
We're the Brady bunch, my fiance has 3 boys and I have 2 girls - this is our first and last child together! Born February 6th, 8:08 am weighing 7 pounds 9 oz

Holly-Anne is my third little girl but my first C section. What a different experience!!! I had an elective c section because my first two had complicated births. My first was retained placenta, my second was shoulder dystocia which was incredibly traumatizing. Both were born not breathing right away, but my second had to be resuscitated. To say I was nervous for this one would be an understatement.

I struggled a lot with whether or not to try naturally again but deciding on a c section was the best choice - plus I got to have my tubes tied 😂 Other than taking over an hour and 3 tries to start an IV, and the spinal bring tricky to insert, It went Well! I wanted skin to skin but unfortunately it didn't happen until the recovery room. Recovery was rough for the first two days but I came home on the 3rd day and made sure I got up and moved around a lot.

I also made a commitment to try my absolute hardest to breastfeed this time around. We're on day 6 and it's going pretty well, my nipples are toughening up a little 🙄 and I'm learning how to confidently break a latch if it's too painful. Wish me luck on our breastfeeding journey, I hope we can make it to a year at least! 🤞🏻
