Verge of Giving Up
My baby and I have had a whirlwind of suggestions for breast feeding. Im so frustrated. Was told early on by LC and pediatrician to pump and supplement since baby was losing too much weight and had minor tongue and lip tie.
I nursed my baby nonstop today and most days. Ill use our last session as an example. He nursed one side for 58 min and the other for 22. He wasn’t satisfied as he would fuss and start crying within minutes of finishing. He would suck on my hand or my shirt. So I got a bottle of formula ready. Normally he only takes an ounce of formula after nursing. Trying to follow someones suggestion, I only offered him 15 mL at a time. He ended up taking 2 full ounces of formula, plus 3/4 ounce of expressed breast milk. Thats on top of the 2 hr nursing. I just wanted to cry. My boobs express milk when I press on them when he’s done. But when I pump, Im lucky to get an ounce after 2 sessions. I keep trying but really feel like giving up breast feeding.
