IUD removal?

I’m having my iud removed and probably replaced with a new one. Does it hurt to have it removed?

I just had mine removed this morning. I know several ladies have said on other posts that they didn't even feel it come out and it was better than getting it inserted. For me, to be honest, it was more painful than getting it inserted but it was faster. A few seconds of sharp cramping / discomfort and she was done. It's about two hours later now and I am having mild but consistent cramping and have been spotting.

My doctor had me couch and pulled it out as I was hearing down in a cough. I think I’m more sensitive then most because immediately after removal I get an awful cramp and it always makes me tear up and catch my breath. But then a few minutes later it’s fine with minor cramping for the day.
