Weird period

I was 20 days late on my period.. I woke up this morning and i am bleeding but it's not a normal period that I usely have this one heavy and I am cramping bad.. it's horrible I almost want to cry. But I'm at work so I cannot

But on my normal period I don't cramp on my first two days just my third and it's very light on my first two days... so this one is totally different.. so I am unsure on what's going on.. I'm just a little confused has anyone ever had this happen.. could I been pregnant and now miscarriage are just period changed up

And to be honest I was secretly hoping to be pregnant..
