How can I learn to draw by observation?

I want to teach myself how to draw. I’ve heard that lots of people can just learn to draw basic shapes and then draw things just by looking at them. How can I do this?

hey! the best thing to do is just practice. just keep drawing. I know that's not really a magical answer but it's the best one. whatever you are drawing, break it down into the simplest shapes and then fill it in. I'll post an example in a second.

people are just circles and boxes really. make a gestural drawing first, just lines and joints, then fill it in. you could probably find some good books or YouTube tutorials to help :)
