My boyfriend is giving me whiplash

Okay so my boyfriend isn’t the love or like PDA at all but lately he seems to love it. Like for example usually we won’t really hug or anything around people but while we are alone he likes it. But lately he’s been really touchy. He’ll just playfully drag me away or playfully through me over his shoulder or even just hug me from behind. I don’t understand he told me he doesn’t like it at all but now he’s doing this? What is up with him? Can anyone help me please?
