Allyship: a lifelong process

So this was inspired by a conversation I’m currently in about white people wearing dreadlocks.

I’m white and I’m around white people quite frequently. I’ve noticed a pattern of defensiveness when it comes to being an ally of POC.

My thoughts are: it’s supposed to be uncomfortable. Any time you confront your own privilege, it’s going to sting. But we have to get past that, because that’s not what’s important here.

I found this article and thought it might help some other people become better allies in 2018.
