What to expect?

I have my first appointment with my OB GYN on March 26th, I’ll be exactly 9 weeks according to my LMP. What should I expect? Will they do an ultrasound? I don’t want to get my hopes up to see my bean and then not see him/her!!

I had an ultrasound. That’s about all they did. They took a urine sample and the doctor did a breast exam. I did blood work and gave urine and answered a bunch of questions over the phone when I first found out. If you didn’t do all that they’ll probably do that too.

All depends on the doctor . We see our family doctor up to 24 weeks here then go see our baby Doctor ... my first app was blood work/ any concerns/ what not to do basically / didn’t need a pap because I had one a month before . But they usually do one, and then a breast examination .. and basically my weight / urine etc . ( we don’t have the ultrasound machines here in the offices ) idk about the obgyn yet but our regular doctors don’t. First app was at 5 weeks so he saw me again at 7 ( because I originally had one set up conveniently when I got pregnant ) lol so my second was ASAP after my blood work ( I had a us for 6 weeks 3 days because of some spotting )  and then my second wasn’t until 21 weeks :) depends a lot it seems where ur !

I had mine when I was 8w6d and they had me pee in a cup to confirm the pregnancy and then I did get an ultrasound but I heard it’s not very common to get an ultrasound at your first appointment!

I think it all depends on the doctor. I had my first appt at 6 weeks. They did a urine pregnancy test, drew blood to check hcg, and did an ultrasound. BUT my doc only does 1 US for 1st and 2nd trimester so my next US with my doctor wasn’t until 20 weeks! I couldn’t wait that long so I went and got a private scan at 16 weeks lol

My first appointment I did a bunch of paper work, blood/urine test, and went over my symptoms n concerns. It all depends on the doc honestly n if their office has the machine or not

I would assume they would do one to determine your due date!

it all depends on the Dr. I think.  My midwife did blood work and asked a lot of questions and scheduled an ultrasound elsewhere since they didn't do it at the location I went too. congrats!🤰🏻

I just scheduled my first prenatal and they said I would have an ultrasound done! I’m not sure how different doctors are with it though, it wouldn’t hurt to call again and ask though if you really wanted to know!
