HSG? Who has had one? Painful?

Who here has had an HSG test done? I'm scheduled to have one and have heard such horror stories!! How was it?

it hurts. but it's over in minutes. you got this! it gives you cramps and its uncomfortable. especially when they make you turn to each side with the thing still inside you. It's not unbearable but it aint pleasant either! it gives you detailed info so important to have done

To me it was awful but tolerable. It’s like having period cramps but worse. Good thing is it doesn’t last very long. My nurses were there to talk to me and keep my mind busy and away from what was going on so it wasn’t so bad. The doctor or nurse let me know every time it would be a little painful. It wasn’t as bad as I thought.

I had it done last year and I read all the horror stories and was freaked out. I can’t lie it’s like a really strong and sharp period cramp pain but it literally lasts like 10 seconds so you just have to breathe through it. You’ll be fine. Good luck :)
