Bracelet too big, any ideas?

Maybe this isn't the right app to post this, but nothing online can give me a solution. Back in October my boyfriend gave me a really nice bracelet. It was quite expensive too, I accidentally saw the price. All sizes were out of stock except for the largest one, so he bought that (so stupid). Obviously, it is huge and falls off as soon as I put my arm down. I can't return it because it has his name in it, and I also can't get it made shorter (I asked at the shop) because it is stainless steel. I have tried sewing elastic wire on the side, a hairtie, connecting it with another bracelet, but that way it is still too big and moves around too much. It's just too small to wear around my ankle. Any creative minds that know of a solution to make it wearable?
