Ectopic Surgery: Any input on this?
I had previously posted about my ectopic and having higher levels of HCG and having 2 methotrexate injections that weren’t bringing my levels down very fast. I ended up seeking a second opinion who did another ultrasound and found that I had a cornual ectopic which is rare but dangerous as it lies so close to the major blood vessels. Basically it was right at the junction between my left tube and my uterus. I ended up having surgery the same day as he was worried about rupture and me bleeding out. Unfortunately due to the location, the doctor wasn’t able to save my tube and had to do a wedge cornual resection of my uterus. He mentioned that he didn’t completely remove my tube as I had imagined would be the case but rather he basically did a tubal ligation on that side. I don’t know much about this but I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this and knows the reasoning why?
