Parents too strict

I’m 18 and my parents don’t let me make choices for myself. They shut the WiFi and my data off at midnight and don’t let me drive to school, I have had my license for a year but they still make me take the bus. I am the only senior in high school that rides the bus at my school and I look really stupid.

Will someone please try to explain why they are being so strict? I feel like I’m going to have a reality shock when I go to college next year.
