Argument with SO

So tonight out to eat with SO daughter son and niece and my So starts talking to my 4 year old daughter about how u have to take care of people who take care of you, whitch he was obviously referring to me I take care of u way to much first of all u have messed up went back to drugs been back to prision 3 times I've picked up all pieces and rebuilt your life for you 3 times I need to take care of people who take care of me I do way to much and he's mad over a pair of boots that he needs I've bought him 4 pairs of shoes in 6 months so I told him to walk home whitch he didn't have to cause my son was there to give him a ride but why am I feeling bad I wish I knew what to do? am I overreacting?
