Why do I keep getting a UTI after sex?

Why do I keep getting bladder infections after sex? At first I thought it was because I didn't pee after sex but I still got an infection after I peed.  We also shower before we have sex and we try to keep everything clean. I don't know why I keep getting them. It's like my 5th or 6th time in about 4 months or so

This was happening to me as well no matter what I did to prevent. Both of us cleaning up before and after, urinating before and after, taking cranberry pills every day, drinking tons of water, etc. I always went to the doctor to get antibiotics and always took the full amount. Unfortunately, some people are just prone to them. Finally, I spoke to my PCP about it and they referred me to a urologist. After some testing to make sure it wasn’t an issue with my kidneys or some kind of urinary tract deformity, they were able to prescribe me an ongoing refill for Macrobid antibiotics. I take it shortly after each time I have sex, and if I feel a UTI coming on, I take it AS SOON AS symptoms start instead of waiting for an appointment. It’s been life changing and I haven’t gotten one in over a year! Talk to your doctor about a referral to a urologist and see if they can help you.

Some people are more prone to it. You get antibiotics right? Some people like to go natural, but definitely go to the doctor and get antibiotics. My sister used to get reaffirming UTIs so now she takes a cranberry pill for urinary health every morning & that has helped her a lot
