Confusion

So I am a freshman at the local JC where I live, but let me get to the point. Well, there is this guy on one of my sports teams that is a few years older than I am and he continuously drops obvious hints that he likes me. The problem that I have with this is that I don't know if I like him or not. I also am not exactly experiencing many emotions at the moment, I am always feeling numb and like I am not in my body if that makes sense? I also don't know this guy very well and I fear if I do start dating him then it could end badly or it could be a toxic relationship, which I don't want. I don't have a problem dating older people, but I just don't know how I feel and I don't want to lead him on due to me not exepriencing emotions right now. I have also started dreaming about him and it kind of scares me because I don't usually have dreams at all. Any advice or words of wisdom? Thank you in advance to those that respond.
