How do you/will you school your children?

Question

I know you can never protect and shield your child from everything, but I have a strong desire to homeschool my children. I just don’t know realistically how much work it will be. Any fellow homeschooling mom who could give me some insight?

I homeschool
Pros:
It’s easier to go on vacations when other kids are in school so places are less crowded 
They can learn one on one so sometimes it can really help them catch onto what they’re doing 
You can set you own schedule so you can finish earlier that other schools 
You get a feeling of accomplishment that your kid actually had learned this because you taught them 
All the sicknesses that go around at school your kid doesn’t catch
Lastly is as many school shootings as they are this is something you don’t have to worry about (this is one I hate to even mention and don’t want to start a debate about)
Cons
It’s time consuming 
There’s always the worry am I doing a good enough job
Sometimes all that time with your kids can make you feel like your going crazy

I am a private in home tutor, I don’t know everything but I do have some experience helping tutor some homeschool students. Just sharing that you will have to check into each states standards in terms of homeschooling. Each state has regulations into what curriculum you can use to do homeschool, if your child still has to take state tests, how many hours it has to be done and how you have to report it, etc. So please look into those standards before making a decision! For some moms it’s a lot more work than they know, and for some it’s perfect, and for others, they hire a private tutor or find a homeschooling group! :) just trying to help! Best of luck!

We chose where we live because of the school district. I was in private up until 8th grade and then went to public high school and I felt extremely unprepared. My 6 year old is in public and she is way above the learning curve and loves her school. I have no regrets doing public.

I was home schooled (for 2 years) and watching my mom do it that's seriously all she did. After she would teach us she would be reading and preparing for the next day. It was a lot of hard work on her.

There’s no way I’m putting my son in public school isn’t safe anymore which is sad and the bullying is unreal and want to have close eye on my sons friends who hangs out with so he will be going to a small Christian school at our church

We bought a house is a good school district. But i also have no problem taking my son out of school and doing a online/home school if need be due to bullying. Or when my kids are old enough to decide if they want to do an online school im fine with that .

There are some good groups on Facebook for homeschooling info. There are also options for assisted homeschooling where the work is prepared for you and your kid can talk to teachers on Skype and you send their work in to be checked ext. I can't remember what the one my friend did with her kids but I'm sure you can find it online ☺

I’m planning on Opt-In schooling my daughter. So she will have the vast majority of classes here at home, and then will join the local public school kids for extracurricular activities and some classes as supplement. 
Basically, I can teach her most things better than the school system I live near can. However I do still want her to socialize and I also am pretty damn bad at math once you pass pre-calc, luckily that’s 16-18 years from now. 
My reasons have nothing to do with protecting her because, yes school shootings happen, so do natural disasters and car crashes and truth is, you can protect them from everything. So her safety has little to do with my homeschooling choice.
