Period after stopping pill

So I decided I wanted to stop using hormonal birth control to see how I feel. I have been on bc since I was 16 and I’m 28 now so 12 years constantly. I spoke with nmh dr and everything was a go so I stopped taking my pills after my last pack ended. I got my period as I was supposed to on the pill. But I just started my period again like 16 days after I finished my last period. Before I started taking bc my period was regular ever 28 days.

For those of you who stopped using hormonal bc how long did it take your period to regulate?
