How long for ILY❤️

Hello ladies! This is going to be somewhat long I apologize in advance.

So I recently just got out of a year long relationship with this guy. We had been friends for a lil bit, went through the talking stage twice and than eventually decided to get together.

After about 6 months of us dating I told him I loved him. I had prepared myself for him to not say it back because he had never been in a serious relationship before so I figured it would take him some to know that he loved me. Well we had made it to the year mark and still no I love you. I was becoming fed up, venting about it to my friends and even my mom. Everyone felt that it was pretty odd that he hadn’t said it yet especially since he treated me so well and our relationship overall was very mature, we never argued and even if we did disagree on things we talked about it like adults.

Even with our relationship being on good standing it still hurt to not be able to tell my boyfriend I loved him bc he wouldn’t say it back. On New Years Day I tried calling t quits with him for obvious reasons but he chased after me “telling me he would do better and that he doesn’t want to lose me” so I decided to give him another chance.

The jackass broke up with me Valentine’s Day weekend. It’s been a couple of weeks so I don’t cry about it as much anymore but it still hurts like fuck bc I really loved him, ya know? I just feel like I wasted my time.

Anyway I want to know how long would you wait for a guy to tell you he loves you?
