How to start giving him space?

My boyfriend told me that I'm always there and I don't give him a chance to miss me. I have decided to give him space but I want to know if I should let him know that I am going to give him space or should I just start it without telling him?

I'm always for more communication rather than less. I wouldn't make a big deal about it, just let him know that u hear him and will try. You could even tell him, your not sure how to do that and see if he has suggestions.  My guy and I have what we simply call Jay Time (my time to be alone) and Matt Time (his time to do the same) and also friend time cause sometimes u need to just hang out with your own friends. and knowing that and communicating that "hey babe, sorry but i need some extra Jay Time today" can help but it takes 2 to tango, it's both ur responsibility, u can't be expected to always correctly read his mind about when he needs some extra space and when he doesnt. patience is hard. Also, important thing.. it won't stay that way forever. the longer things go on and the closer things get, the more u will be in eachothers hair and get comfy with it but if u rush it, it will blow up. Each person has a different personal space they are used to,even in relationships. it's like a 2 pendulums next to eachother, sometimes u will bump into eachother too much but you have to be patient and keep talking until u get into a rhythm together, with the comfortable closeness or distance for both of you
