How long to wait?

My original plans on how my family was going to be set was for me to have my first baby and then a year or two later have another one. I want them to grow up together. And maybe between them have my 3rd one in 4 to 5 years then the fourth again a year or two after. I thought I was going to deliver naturally but as I am 4'11" and was carrying an almost 9lb baby my doctor said I could try to deliver naturally but had to be induced. Well needless to say I guess my baby and body wasn't ready so I had to have a c section. Now I've been told to wait 4 to 5 years to have my next one but honestly I don't want to. I had my baby in January but I would still want to proceed with my plan!😭 Let me know your experiences ladies. I'll be talking to my doctor soon but I still want to know by you ladies who have been through this.

My 2 month old baby who I get told constantly doesn't look that small. 😂

4 years? ACOG recommends an 18 month gap between another birth and your last csection. I’m having my 4th which will be 21 months apart from my last and the one before that was 23 months apart from each other. I would listen to what your doctor suggest unless his/her reasoning sounds off. In that case, get a second opinion. I’ve had uncomplicated surgeries so 18 months was suggested to me every time.

What?!? I’ve never heard that before...I would get a second opinion if I were you....I was told 12-18 Months...I started trying after a year, and was successful very quickly. When I deliver (via repeat c) it will have been about 20 months since my initial delivery.

I had my son via c section. My doctor said after the second month I was healed and it was ok to start trying. Though I chose to wait till he was at least a year. As long as you had a normal c section with out complications, I don’t see the issue. My son is now 1 1/2 and I’m 9 weeks pregnant. My doctor and I have no concerns about me carrying to term. He even left it up to me whether to go natural or have another c section. Best of luck.

I had my baby boy in August 2017 via c section but unfortunately he passed away after birth.  Naturally I wanted another baby as soon as possible.  My consultant told me to wait 6 month, however, I fell pregnant again 4 month after c section.  My consultant has told me that it's fine, it just means I'll have to have another section.  If you want a natural birth after a c section you have to wait 18 months to conceive again.

That's insane! I have a 10 1/2, 9 yr old and would have had a 5 1/2 yr old but it ended with a stillborn. So as you can see their all 3 not that far apart and It was perfectly fine.

I asked my doctor a couple of days ago and was told i could start trying after 6 months ! I wish it was sooner and was so disappointed I had to have a c section to as reallybwamted to have Irish twins 🙈

4-5 years?! I’ve had 2 csections (third will be in June) and was told to wait at least a year before getting pregnant between each. All three of my kids will be 2.5 years apart.

My baby sisters brood. her first emergency csection (baby showed signs of stress cord was on neck), second 14 months later and she had her Vbac(vaginal birth after Cesarian), third was 20m later he was also Vbac, 4th I don’t remember exactly how many months after but her oldest wasn’t 4 yet, he was also Vbac. Btw she is only 5.2, she has a few inches on you but your height has little to do with how well or how close you can have your babies. Oh and my good friend had triplets and 18m later had a boy. Both were C-sections due to the high risk.
