Is it fair for one parent to withhold the gender of their unborn child from the other parent?

Va

This is meant to be a ‘light hearted’ controversy.. I’m not out to get anyone worked up here. This is something my husband and I are discussing, but not fighting over or anything dramatic like that.

My husband and I were discussing if we wanted to find out the gender of our baby. He wants to know, I would rather it be a surprise. We both agreed that if he knows it would probably be impossible for him not to slip up and mention it in the next 6 months so I would probably have to find out too.

Since the blood test was done on me, the office would contact me with the results and it would be up to me if I wanted them to relay the info or not.

To me, this baby is as much his as it is mine (I realize some people see it differently) but from a medical point of view, if I wanted, I could block him from knowing the gender for the remainder of the pregnancy.

My question is, would it be fair or unfair of me to make the choice to wait for us?

Bonus question:: if this was reversed and I wanted to know and he didn’t, would that change your answer?
