Need some advice

This guy that I’m talking to and I have been talking for awhile and we talk as if we’re in a relationship. We tell each other that we love each other and we’re constantly flirting or joking around. I dont know if this means we’re in a relationship or not because we never established what we were. I want to be in a relationship with him and I assume he wants to be in one with me. Are we in one and we just didnt say it vocally or what?
