Anyone stationed at JBLM

My husband and I are moving there soon and I’m reading the reviews on the housing on base and it’s absolutely terrible! Not to mention some of these people are saying the wait for housing is 2-3 months minimum. Can anyone confirm this? I am already stressing about living some place expensive and then I hear this it makes it worse. Our BAH is about $1750-$1800. Which means we will need to find a place that’s no more than $1500 to cover utilities. I live in Texas at the moment and everything is much cheaper. I am worried we will move there and be stuck living in a hotel that we cannot afford for months on end. What other options do we have?
