Emergency Ultrasound
I had an emergency ultrasound with my OB today at 6w2d. I ended up in the ER on Monday due to some spotting. The doctor found that my baby’s fetal heart rate was very low at 89bpm and that there was a subchorionic hemorrhage around the placenta. I was discharged with a “threatened abortion”. I was completely devastated as the doctor made it seem as if the baby was not fit to survive. However, today my ultrasound showed that the baby’s heart rate has reached 116bpm and they ensured me that baby was perfectly fine. They said that it is normally way too early to even find a heartbeat at the gestational age of my baby and that sometimes ER doctors have to expect the worst for liability and insurance purposes. I’m beyond relieved to see and hear my baby’s healthy heartbeat and confident that he or she will be okay ❤️
P.S.
Any guesses of the sex just by looking at the scan? I’m saying girl!
