baby won't eat food

Y'all, my little boy will be 8mo old Monday and when we first introduced baby food we had trouble but he eventually started eating baby food pretty good, now he is denying it again.. I've also tried some table foods like mashed potatoes and peas but he will just gag if I give them to him. Also, when he was eating baby food he would only eat the fruit baby food... It's really starting to get to me because he needs more veggies in his diet and WIC (don't judge) decreases the amount of formula you can get when it's time for them to start eating baby food ... I'm seriously at a loss any advice is greatly appreciated!
