Infertility finally answered...

Our journey to become pregnant started almost 4 years ago. Around thanksgiving 2014 we decided that we would start trying to get pregnant and I stopped using the Nuvaring. However, getting pregnant was harder than expected... but... how does everyone get pregnant instantly?

By the time 2016 rolled around, we decided to see a doctor. They did all kinds of testing, semen analysis and HSG, checking my Fallopian tubes. Everything was great and there was nothing wrong with us. The Doctor‘s explanation: unexplained infertility.

We were offered chlomid, however, declined because we didn’t think it would be necessary if everything was fine with us. Sooner or later it will happen, right?

Well, fast forward to 2018. We have moved half way across the world to Germany and decided to get checked here again at a civilian doctor. I waited an entire six months for an appointment at the gynecologist. But oh well...

Finally had my appointment last week Monday. I went and talked about the infertility. He was shocked that my doctor‘s in the states would only examine me every 3 years, since every 6 months is normal in Germany.

During the examination he felt my tummy and asked if anything hurt... I told him that I have a slight discomfort on the right side.. he immediately did a vaginal ultrasound... and there was the reason for my infertility... a huge cyst on my right ovary... a cystadenoma to be precise...

Now I am up for surgery.
