Baby custard at 7 weeks?

So my baby boy doesn't care for his bottles, he's never full, we've changed formula a bunch of times, breastmilk wasn't enough for him so my baby nurse suggested baby custard between feeds just a little on his dummy to keep him happy, his doctor said it was ok also and I see such an improvement in him, he's such a happy boy now. Has anyone else tried this?

Newborns are “never full” because they are growing so exponentially. They shouldn’t have anything other than breastmilk or formula until 6 months old, minimum!

Absolutely not. Newborns are always hungry because they're growing so incredibly fast. Their bellies are NOT ready to digest food in any capacity at that age and they shouldn't be having anything but breast milk or formula. Any doctor who is suggesting food for a 7 week old is giving terrible advice and I'd be finding a new pediatrician.

That’s way too young. 
At this age it should be either formula or breastmilk nothing else.
4-6 months of age is when you should be introducing other foods but even then I wouldn’t give custard due to the amount of sugar in it.

7 weeks is far too young for foods.   But if the doctor is ok with it i guess...but I’d get a second opinion

Any possibility baby had reflux or silent reflux? Maybe this is why you've had to try a bunch of formulas? Ask your ped about Zantac. No I wouldn't use anything but breast milk or formula.
