Regret not finding out gender?

FTM, 25 weeks and planning to be surprised by baby’s gender. I’ve been working on my registry and nursery and talking to people at work and today one woman said I will regret not finding out the gender because I won’t have the nursery or the clothes the way I want them. I wasn’t particularly worried but she was insistent and now I’m thinking about it. Any mom’s regret not knowing?

We didn't find out with our first and aren't finding out this time either and it was awesome! I didn't feel like I wasn't prepared or regretted it one bit. The birth was so much fun and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hey! FTM here and we decided to keep it a surprise! Our nursery is neutral with a sort of boho vibe going on. We are telling all the haters to just deal with it!  When they say things like "How will you be prepared?!" I usually respond with "Well, I'm pretty sure it's going to be human soo...".  I am way more concerned with preparing myself mentally and reading up on L&D; and breastfeeding than I am with buying cute little dresses that will either never be worn or be stained almost immediately.  Stick by your decision and don't let people scare you into changing your mind.

I’m 25 weeks and not finding out either. There are not many surprises in life anymore so why not have control over this one! We did ivf so we feel like this is something special that we can control.

I’m pregnant with #1 and also not finding out the gender (so I may be biased 😆), but I’ve also known several people who were surprised and said it was the greatest moment(s) of their lives.
I guess she has a valid point only if nursery theme matters THAT much to you. I absolutely love our nursery theme and it’s completely gender neutral, so she’d be wrong if she tried to tell ME that my nursery  isn’t what I want.
As for clothes, maybe the first couple weeks you’ll be bound by white, gray, and yellow clothes, but you’ll have the rest of the child’s life to buy the cute pink or blue outfits. Plus, friends and family love buying outfits once they know the gender, so I’m sure you’ll receive some shortly after baby is born.
Sorry for the rant, but for me, I want that moment of surprise so badly that colors don’t even matter to me.

I am 27 weeks ftm and we are not finding out. I didn’t want people to gender categorize my nursery as I hope we will have more kids and I want to reuse things. I figure the boy/girl clothes and gifts will come naturally through gifts. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Why would you regret it... for one the baby clothes only last so long so when your baby gets here you can pick up some cute outfits as you find them and for one know your getting the right size. And I know what I’m having and my nursery is pretty gender neutral cause I don’t want to go all baby boy out on it then have to change it down the road. I would totally wait if I had any patients and wasn’t on my first!

I don't think you will regret it.  Hell you can know and plan everything and there can still be surprises.  Babies are funny like that.  Plus you eliminate all the entire pink clothing and the baby blue all star clothing.  Both are equally horrible.

I am 26 weeks and we are not finding out. My nursery is coming along just fine in grey and white with pops of yellow. As for clothes they will wear onesies the first few weeks so I am not worried. I am excited to be surprised. Don’t stress you don’t get many real surprises in life!

I found out the gender but my really good friend did not and she NEVER regretted it! She even did the same thing with baby #2 😊. She just picked neutral colors for the nursery and only bought white onesies and shirts to bring to the hospital to bring baby home in. Once baby was here she used giftcards from her baby shower to buy more clothes and ordered things online. She said it was the best surprise of her and her husbands life and they absolutely loved it 💕💕💕

I do not think you will regret it.  My second child the baby had her legs crossed and we couldn't see.  Ultrasound tech said, I'm thinking its a boy... so....fast forward 15 weeks and a month before she came... she was called a her....while in discussion with a different tech.. I said you mean he right.... and she said... no. That is a girl. All of that prep and baby shower and we had all this blue... boy stuff... I wish I would have went with neutral and focused on other things.
