Sex to induce labor. Does it really work?

Contractions are 3-5 minutes apart since yesterday (some are mild, some are intense) and I’m still not progressing enough to be admitted! My doctor said she believes I will go into labor on my own and suggested I try walking, sex, and nipple stimulation to see if that brings on stronger contractions.

I spent most of the day walking around stores while contracting (NOT fun), and had sex with my husband when we got home. I’m wondering if this stuff works to induce labor! Did anyone else go into labor after having sex? How long did it take for you to feel contractions or stronger contractions?

I’m 39+5 and 70% thinned 1 cm dilated
