Okay, so..this is a bit of a long story, but I promise it’s worth it.

Today, I discovered the infamous Diva Cup. After some research and studying up on pros/cons, I decided to make the small investment and get my own.

So, I get home and my husband is talking to me about what I’ve bought. I excitedly disclose to him that I’ve spent almost $40 on this rubber device that supposedly will make periods much more bearable. He looks at me like

I ignore him, and take my new purchase to the bathroom to take it for a spin.

After 20 minutes of reading and re-reading directions, I finally squeeze this tiny blood catcher in my hoo-ha. It’s a little weird at first, but after a while I feel like

It’s awkward to get used to, but after an hour or so it’s almost unnoticeable.

Welllll, we decided to watch a movie. So we’re eating dinner (chicken enchiladas) and getting super into this film.

Then, the worst happens...nature calls

So I’m like “hey babe pause it. I gotta go, like now”.

He complies and I waddle off, feeling super penguiny. I don’t know about y’all, but I always take tampons out when I go #2.

I attempted to removed the rubber fiend with no luck.

So I do my business, and decide I’m going to take it out for the day afterwards

. I’ve done my time, I get how it works. I also need practice on removing this thing if it’s going to be a regular task, right?!

Well, I read directions again, and decide my best course of action is to squat down with my “butt on my heels” as the directions state.

I’m in there for ATLEAST 20 minutes. By the end of it, I am crying y’all. Like real tears. I apparently have a very small, rather tight opening and uh...this thing just felt right at home.

And my husband hears me😳😂

He comes down the hallway, attempts to open the door and I’m yelling at him to go away.

He’s the sweetest though.

He says, “you need help? I can pull it out without looking”

At this point I’m in the floor like

So he decided to walk me through it. He says, “Okay just take a deep breath. You’re not gonna be able to get it out if you don’t relax. Here, I have an idea.”

Y’all, next thing I hear from the other side of the door... Hall & Oats- You Make My Dreams Come True 😂😂😂

So my tears turn to full on belly laughs, and i’ve got one foot on the toilet. Apparently the pressure on my pelvic area pushed it down enough for me to grab the end and triumphantly pull it out of me.

That’s the first, and probably the last time, I use the Diva Cup. I was reminded again today why I chose to marry this great man 😂😂😂
