When you got your bfp when did you get first Ultrasound

I’m hearing mixed things about ultrasound. Some places in Texas say they only can do after 6weeks other day after 8weeks !? Idk I thought once pregnant you can go anytime for the first one .

No because you can’t see anything until after a certain amount of time. Too early and you will just see the sac and not the baby. My doctor first saw me at 6 weeks past my last period but didn’t do an ultrasound until 8 weeks. I believe all offices are different but it’s pointless too soon.

Typically obgyns like to schedule the first ultrasound in the 8-12 week range. Before that there is a much higher chance of not seeing anything or not being able to find a heartbeat, which necessitates more ultrasounds. Early ultrasounds are usually reserved for high risk pregnancies or threatened miscarriages.

8 weeks with baby #1. we loss our baby boy at 14 weeks. 
5 weeks with baby #2. we are high risk. currently 36w5d.

You can go anytime but you generally need to be referred by a doctor (at least where I live) and you won’t see much or hear a heartbeat until after about 6-7 weeks. If you go too early it’s probably just going to scare you so it’s definitely worth waiting until about 7 weeks so that you can make sure everything is ok.

19 weeks. I have very regular cycles and was pretty sure when I conceived so I did not need a dating ultrasound, but if I did it would have been at my first 6 week appointment.

My ultrasound was just after what we thought was 7 weeks. I measured 6w3d.

I had one at 8 weeks because I had miscarried the month before and my doc needed to date my pregnancy. If that hadn’t been the case, I wouldn’t have had one until my anatomy scan at 20 weeks
