He’s an early bird 💙 (slightly long story)

I was due with my baby boy on April 25th, but on Monday morning, April 9th, I noticed I was having some contractions. They were pretty painless, almost like Braxton Hicks but slightly more uncomfortable. So I thought to myself, “Hah, what if this is actual labor?? ...Probably not.” but I did look down at my belly as I felt him kick and told him “April 9th is a silly day to be born, wait till April 10th.”

I was completely joking of course, he’ll come whenever he wants to! But sure enough, my contractions got stronger and closer together so by 7 pm, I went to the hospital. They’d started to hurt pretty bad and the nurses let me stay for 2hrs. I was only 1 1/2 cm dilated and not making ANY progress despite the contractions being 5 min apart and 60 seconds each, so they sent me home!

That night, I couldn’t sleep because of the pain. I labored throughout the night, unable to talk or walk through the contractions and in the morning around 10 am, I called the OB again, asking if I could come in to be seen. They sent me to the OFFICE for a labor check instead of L&D.; When I got there, I was laboring in the waiting room, in front of several other moms (they all looked at me, slightly freaked out lol) until the nurses took me back to give me a look. My doctor freaked out because I was at 4 1/2cm and my water was still unbroken but bulging, so it could break at any moment! They quickly wheeled me to L&D; where I labored meds free till 2 pm and 6 cm, then I got the epidural. The doctor then broke my water and I continued labor until 11 pm.

My baby was born 3 weeks early, face up at 11:09 pm on April 10th, 2018 after 10 minutes of pushing! He weighed 5 lbs 15 oz, was 18.5 in long and was completely healthy according to the doctor! Although he came out face up, I only got a minor 2nd tear, thank god!!
