Waseya Louise
I had the easiest pregnancy! She was growing great! I felt pretty good! I was excited to have her in my arms!
I was having contractions 10 minutes apart and we left for the hospital! (Living so far away we had to go) They monitored and decided it was early labor and she wasn’t quite ready! They were going to send me home but just wanted to check with the head OB! But they told me to get dressed and ready to go! An hour later they care back! The head OB wanted me back on the monitors and wanted an ultrasound as well! So while we are waiting they come in and say that every time I contract her heart rate drops to a dangerous levels! So they want to induce!
Okay so they give me a pill to ripen my cervix! That doesn’t work so they put the same pill inside of me! That still isn’t really working as well as they want but they go ahead and give me the Pitocin anyway!
I haven’t slept in 3 days and I’m now walking circles around my room because if I sit down I can’t stand the pain! I was all back labor! I was already exhausting myself!
Well the contractions worsened so I tried the jacuzzi and finally nitros oxide! When that stopped working we went ahead with fentanyl! I wasn’t progressing fast enough and baby’s heart rate kept falling! I felt like they had me doing gymnastics trying to resuscitate baby every time her heart fell! I was in so much pain and terrified! I luckily had my amazing fiancé there to coax me through every contraction and work on my breathing and to reassure me that it was going to be okay! My doctor finally suggested an epidural even though I said I didn’t really want it! We discussed everything that came with the epidural! The risks and benefits of getting one! Finally I agreed and we went on! Got my epidural but baby still wasn’t doing well! My water finally broke on it’s own and my body took over progression! My doctor told me to let him know if I felt a pressure in my butt and left! Almost as soon as he walked out I told my nurse that I felt that pressure! She got the doc and I went from 4cm to 9cm in the matter of 5 minutes! He gave me 20 more minutes on the Pitocin and finally was like “let’s let you have a baby” they got ready and we started the process! 20 minutes of pushing and baby was here! Her umbilical cord came out of the side of the placenta instead of the middle and the cord was wrapped around her neck! So far 3 days old and she has a clean bill of health 💗 My little Waseya Louise is healthy as can be!
