Period?

I gave birth almost 6 weeks ago and am breastfeeding. Is it normal for my period to be back already? My bleeding stopped a few weeks ago and I've just been having a little bit of brown spotting since, but yesterday I started spotting red and now it's picked up considerably today. 
I thought breastfeeding was supposed to delay your period? Has anyone else had this happen? I can't be hemmoraging this long after giving birth can I?

I got my period back two weeks after my postpartum period ended, even with breastfeeding. Some of us aren’t lucky enough to go without a period.

Yyyyyep. Got mine back at 7.5 weeks pp while ebf, and my sisters had similar experiences. Breastfeeding CAN delay the return of menstruation, but it isn't a guarantee by any means

Its normal and varies in each person. Im still breastfeeding at 20 months and have always had my period since i gave birth 20 months ago lol
