??? About Anatomy scan

So every time I go in to do the Anatomy scan they tell me the baby is not in the right place for them to get everything done. They only try for 10-15 mins and give up. I’ve been 4 times already and they still can’t get everything. They told me next week will be the last try they will try and if not than not to worry about it. I’m 22 weeks and 5 days. With my two other girls I’ve never got this done and they are both fine. Should I even go to the last one? Every time I go its more and more money for nothing. Thanks ladies!

I would ask to speak with the clinic administrator... they should NOT be charging you every time you go back if it’s their fault they can’t get the job done. They spent about 30-45 minutes to get everything they needed on my anatomy scan. Sounds like they are lazy or not trained well.

they've tried 4 times by the time you were 22 weeks? that seems excessive. they didn't get everything they needed at my 20 week scan so she told me to come back in in 6 weeks so baby is bigger and it may be easier for them to get the pictures they needed.

It's not "their fault" they can't get everything. So for those that said you shouldn't have to pay for the follow up scans, that's not how billing works for ultrasound, each ultrasound is a new exam, it's not just pictures added to the last. The anatomy scan is very dependent upon baby. I'm a tech so I know it can't always all be done in one shot. I had to have a follow up scan with my son and this pregnancy to get the remaining anatomy they couldn't the first time. My OB office allows up to 40 minutes though at the 1st anatomy scan to try, 10-15 doesn't sound like enough time. It's totally your right to refuse the remaining scan if that's what you choose.

My ultrasound lady was telling me how somebody stayed for fours hours trying to get the baby to move. She didn’t want to come back so 10-15 isn’t enough time. I would def complain

The babies position can depend on shape of your cervix and where the egg implanted and keep in mind if you lil one is not cooperating or is in a band position the tech can not do what they need to but the anatomy scan is very important bc it can give you clarification that you lil one has all his/her body parts and that they are where they are suppose to be. An ultrasound tech will also check for fluids on lil ones brain or for any other health issues or abnormalities.

I had to go back once, and both scans were over an hour! That included a 10 min break or so each time to walk and drink juice to try to get baby to turn. It’s annoying when baby doesn’t cooperate, and it’s nobody’s fault. But it seems like they should have scheduled you for longer blocks if time. And if they can’t get the shots they need, they should send you to someone who specializes in reading blurry or distant photos - you need that info from anatomy scan!

It's their job to do scans . I'd put them in their place or find another Dr. I've heard of it all down to doing jumping jacks to get the baby moving for a better shot .

My little one didn’t like his bead looked at and the lady had trouble getting the measurements but she got me to get up and walk a little and after that was all good, my appointment lasted 1 hr for her to get all measurements

Mine was an hour, sonthere problem 1. I had to get up jiggle sit get up eat sit lol. i do have to go back becuase she woildnt show her spine.
