Periods after pregnancy while breastfeeding

I had my LO 3 months ago and experienced my first period after having her, on the 4th of this month. It lasted about 5 days and seemed pretty normal to me, then 8 days later I started spotting as if I was going to start again with bright red blood and now I’m back on my period full effect. I never experienced this before and I’m a little worried because this is absolutely abnormal. Especially being that I had a baby before and didn’t have a period back to back like this in a week. I’m going to talk to my GYN once Monday comes around but I was just wondering have anyone experienced this before after having their baby and while breastfeeding. I want to know that I’m not alone
