"how old is your child?"

Question

When asked how old your 1 year old child is do you say the month or year of age?
My twins are 16 months and when asked I usually say they are 1...but there's a big difference between a 12 month old and a 23 month old...shoot even a big difference from 12-16 months. I can understand age 2 and up saying the age in years, or when they are 12-14 months say 1 year, 17-19 months saying a year and a half, 22-23 months say "almost 2."

My son is not a year yet so I still say months. But once he’s 1, I’ll probably change my answer depending on who is asking. If it’s another mom, I’ll probably say months. But if it’s a person who probably doesn’t know the developmental differences in babies between 1 and 2, I’ll probably stick to 1, 1 1/2, or 2.

When people say they have a 23 month old 🤢 just say a two year old! It drives me nuts.

I saw someone say it like this;
Before 18 months: months
18-23 months: A year and a half to almost two!
Then by half year ie, 2, 2.5, 3 etc

It depends on the asker. If it's another mom, I go months. Anyone else, I go the 1-1.5-2 route. I was actually just talking about this yesterday!

Ill say months until 18 months then I’ll switch to a year and a half and eventually I’ll say “2 in November” but as of right now if anyone asks I say 16 months

Depends on who I'm talking to. 
Someone I get the impression is curious about her development vs her size (she's small), gets months because monthly milestones are still a thing. 
Someone that is just casually asking with no investment in any future conversation gets "one...one and a half... almost two..."

Lol I'm paranoid.... My son is about a year and a half... So I say that and don't give out his birthday or months. I didn't let people post pictures on the day of his birthday until a few days after. I'm just nervous about having his information out there :/

Mine is also 16 months. I tell random people in the store that he's one. Other moms and people I know get months. I will probably stop months at 18 months.
