Progesterone & Birth Defects

My Dr started me on Prometrium as a vaginal suppository at 200mg twice a day. I had an early MC in January and although we don’t know if it’s because of my progesterone, this time around mine was dropping so my Dr. put me on it to prevent another MC.

I’m now almost 12 weeks and I’ve been taking it from week 8 and I stop it once I hit Week 12 (this Saturday).

I am just now reading about the risk of progesterone capsules and birth defects and I’m scaring myself and regretting this. I know this could’ve saved my pregnancy but I’m so afraid it could cause issues.

Anyone have experience with this? I need to stop googling but I’m paranoid.
