Keep name or save it for future child?

Hi All,
I had my 1st OB appt at 9 wks yesterday and was told my baby had no heartbeat. My husband and I are devastated. 
Tried unsuccessfully for 2 years with medical intervention and this pregnancy happened naturally! Based on my ultrasounds and heartbeat I felt that our baby was a girl. 
I had a name in mind for the longest time and now I am torn if I should assign this name to this baby we lost or save it for a future living child. I am torn! 
I will have a d&c; this Friday. 
Has anyone else been in the same boat, and what did you decide?

I didn’t miscarry, I lost my daughter two days after she was born. She had the perfect name. That name couldn’t work for any child, no matter how much I wish it could because it genuinely is just such an amazing name to me. But my daughter was born and given that name. Idk how it feels to miscarry, and I am in NO way saying that your loss isn’t real or important, but if you love the name, I would give it to the next baby you have. And you can even do that to honor this baby in a way. I feel like if I had lost my daughter before I knew she was a girl and before we picked the name for her, it may be different for me. But like I said, I don’t know that for sure because I’ve never experienced a miscarriage. I’m so very sorry for your loss.

My husband and I had a girl name and a boy name picked out. But then we miscarried right before we found out the gender. So we found another name that was gender neutral that we loved and named them that. Go with your gut on this. There is no right or wrong answer.

With my first pregnancy we had names picked out one for a girl and one for a boy ... I ended up losing my baby at 20 weeks before I knew boy or girl ... so I got induced and delivered the baby they took them out and cleaned them up and brought them back all wrapped up and they told me it’s a little boy ! And that’s the first thing a did was was said “hello braxton dean, mommy loves you” I love that name and I would love it for a future boy but it also means so much because that was his name that’s what we picked out for him so of course we kept it ... personally he’s still my baby I still talk about him and I’m glad I kept his name ans didn’t save it if I have a boy in the future ... so far I’ve had 2 girls after this if I try one last time it will probably be another girl anyways 😂

I lost my son at 17 weeks in august. We were planning on  naming a boy jr. So after I delivered him I asked my husband if he wanted this baby to be his jr. And he said yes. So now we have VJ ❤️

I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks, didn't know the sec yet but felt like my baby was a bit, so I named him and couldn't imagine giving my other child the same name....personal opinion but I feel they are still our children no matter how long we were lucky to have they were still our baby and the love never will go away so i feel the name shouldn't either.... go luck, but i honestly would say you need to mourn this loss, so it doesn't impair your feelings for the next baby, your rainbow baby will come....I lost mine 11 years ago...Sept 7th would be his birthday so I always go to a special spot for him on that day... it still hurts but I know I was meant to be.... still waiting on my rainbow baby.... baby dust to you hun

So sorry for your loss.
I had this same feeling for my miscarriage. Although I wanted to save the name, it doesn't seem like a good fit for my future daughter anymore. Probably because I feel like it was meant for my first baby. 
Take the time needed to mourn and I'm sure you'll know what's right in time. I would say if you referred to baby as the name instead of baby then you should keep it for your angel baby.
