Can child molesters be rehabilitated? My thought is no - you cannot change who someone is attracted to. Is a mandatory life sentence appropriate for a first time offense? *im speaking of the ones who have committed sexual acts against children
The rate of recidivism is astounding. So many lives shattered. What is the solution?
I think of it this way: (IMO) people are born with a preference of who/what they’re attracted to - just like you can’t send someone to gay camp (to de-gay-ify) them - you cannot change who anyone is attracted to.
Now - this is solely my opinion. Certainly doesn’t mean it’s correct.
