How much did your maternity photos cost?

This is if you didn’t do them yourself. My mom wanted to do mine ourselves because my stepdad has an expensive camera and is regularly hired for weddings/parties but I know I wouldn’t like them because they don’t understand my style and are a lot more conservative then I am. When I told her I found someone to do them for $300 she just kept going on and on about how it was a rip off. I’ll be paying for them so ultimately I’m going to do what I want. But I’m wondering how much everyone else paid.

I dont do maternity photos, but we do newborn and I know my photographer's pricing. $375, with full rights and all digital (no prints). I think we spend 450 on our newborn photos. in my opinion, there is only one chance to capture this moment, so why wouldn't you want to splurge a little, if you're able to do so. Sounds like shes just a little hurt.

You get what you pay for. It's just the truth. You are paying for expertise and guaranteed captures of this time, that will never happen again. It's important to make sure you get someone with your style like you said, and experience.

The photographer I use bundles. So I got a maternity session, hospital birth, and newborn pics all for $300

We paid $500 for combo of maternity and newborn shoot. If purchasing packages separately it would have been $295 each. This was the most affordable in our area with experience.

In my experience you either get what you pay for... or you get ripped off. Check out their portfolio, and if it’s amazing then that doesn’t sound unreasonable at all. Also, if hair and makeup is included that’s a great price. Make sure to watch if you have a minimum purchase price for prints too. That’s how some places can charge so cheap. You only pay $100, but you have to buy at least $250 on prints.

I was going to pass on maternity photos but I ended up seeing a shoot with my preferred photographer that I couldn’t pass up. It wasn’t a maternity specific shoot so it’ll have family photos as well and I’m much happier with that. I don’t do anything with my maternity photos from our first pregnancy so this seemed like a better option :)
