hangout with friends miscommunication

So I’m going away for the summer so I told one of my friends a week before I leave and asked him if he and some of our mutual friends would be free to hangout sometime before I left.

Well turns out he was able to find an evening that him and 4 other friends are free ( more people than I expected so cool) but it’s the evening before I leave ( so not very convenient but ok). Then I forgot that my idea of hanging out is different than most people my age ( I’m 21) I was thinking going to someones house and just sitting around talking , something casual as it was short notice. Most people my age including him idea of hanging out is going out for drinks. I really want to hangout with my friends before I leave but my parents who I still live with and our giving me a ride out of town early the next morning to begin my summer long trip to my summer job, don’t want me to stay up late or drink. So I don’t know what to do as I really want to go out with my friends but sorta agree with my parents that it would be a bad idea to stay up late and drink the night before leaving early in the morning to travel all day.
