At what age did you let your baby have their first cake?

We let her try cake for her first birthday. She hasn't had any since. She's had a couple bites if ice cream. She's 20 months.

My LO is 15 months and we don’t let her have any processed sugar, I just don’t see the point. She occasionally has fresh squeezed orange juice (when we are out) only because we live somewhere that is famous for it so it’s at all the local cafes.

My oldest got cake for the first time at his first birthday party. First time with ice cream around a year and a half maybe. My youngest will probably be the same.

I still not offer any sweeter to my 17 months old daughter, no juices, cookies,ice cream or cake. Her smash cake is made for no sugar. She eats ton of fruits everyday so sugar is not necessary for her right now. Once she start go to school she can have them but not now.

Cake at 1 year birthday. Ice cream we where going to wait till he was three but I had brain fart and gave him some strawberry ice cream I had just bought at food trucks because I thought the cold would feel good on his gums (he was teething bad). That was a week after his birthday. Oh well.

7 months. Doctor approved. We went on vacation. And he was eating whatever we ate at the time. So if we had ice cream so did he.

I made cupcakes from scratch for my son’s first birthday. He tasted it, but didn’t like it. He wanted fruit instead. I don’t remember when with ice cream it was after that. Once he was 1 we didn’t stress about every little thing. We focused on healthy fresh food when we could. He’s 3 and still a great eater!

my son is 14 months currently and he gets a small dessert probably about 3 times a week, only because he sees us eating it so then he wants it and we don't say no because how are we gonna say no you can't have this delicious treat while we stuff our faces with it? Lol maybe it's easier to say no but we just don't. He started on his first birthday at least we thought. we wanted to watch him have the special expierience of having his first sweet for his big year. my mil just told me yesterday that before I even started him on solids she snuck him ice cream.
