Does sciatica pain always radiate down your legs?

Hi!
I’m trying to figure out if this constant back pain that I keep having is sciatic pain? Sometimes it’s a sharp lower back pain and it radiates to my butt. Is this sciatic nerve pain? Or does that usually occur later in pregnancy like third trimester? I do get prenatal massages but it only relieves me for about a few days and I try to stray away from Tylenol unless I desperately need it. I’m currently 24 weeks. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like sciatica to me. Definitely staying active and making sure to stretch every day helps - doesn’t make it completely go away but makes it better!

I get it in my lower back and my bum towards my legs. Stretches really help, so does exercising.

I’ve had problems with that for months, even before getting pregnant. Definitely not just a third trimester thing. Try going to a chiropractor.

Thanks everyone for your comment. I guess it is sciatica. Man this back pain has been so bad and it seems like nothing can relieve it.

I’m 21 weeks. Mostly pain in low back & hip. Sciatica doesn’t have to go down your leg. It can get progressively worse though. Try looking for some light stretches to do. Stretching has helped me.

Yeah mine is in my lower back and radiates down my left buttcheek and down my left leg 😅 my doctor told me to use a heating pad when I can and if it doesn’t improve she’s gonna send me to physical therapy 🤷🏼‍♀️
But I’ve never had it before I was pregnant and if I sit down for an hour or so I honestly have to hobble it hurts so bad 😅

I’ve suffered with sciatica for couple of years now always gets worse with pregnancy 😭 mine is always at the bottom of my back goes into my bum and down my right leg x
