When do you stop using a baby monitor?

Question

I’m debating whether to stop using our video monitor. Our son is 19 months old and his room is across from ours and I can hear him from our room without the monitor. I’m trying to cut back and if I don’t need it I don’t want to continue using it! 
How did you guys approach it? 
My son sleeps through the night  so not worries about him getting out of bed etc

My daughter is four and I still use mine just to see if she’s getting out of bed, which still happens every night

I will probably use ours as long as possible until it becomes an issue of privacy. It makes me sleep better at night.

My daughter will be 6 years old in two months and we still have a monitor in her room. Her room is on the other side of the house though. I’d be nervous about not having a monitor in either one of my girls’ rooms and both of them sleep through the night. My two year old is still in a crib. 19 months seems too young to ditch the monitor.

I still use ours just because it's video. I like to peak in every so often.

We mainly use ours for nap time for my 3 year old still. He used to be great at staying in bed, but the last 4-5 months he fights naps and gets out of bed. We talk to him to tell him to get in bed and can see when he wakes in the Am. We could do with out it, but it works for us

My youngest is 3 years old and I still use mine. He is a special needs child and is not mobile at this time yet.

Never. I have kids from 16 years -4 in the house... It's such a great tool with the pre teens and teens, especially when friends are over lol!!! I'm actually serious tho, I'll put it in their room or in the living room hidden when I have a guy concern ... Guess that's what they get for having a mom with a background in Criminal Justice lol. No I don't use it all the time. It was really cool to hear my younger boys talk about their favorites of activities or food then I randomly pop up with it, they think I'm a miracle worker and get so happy! But as babies, I think I stopped using it at 18months - 2 when they got more mobile, verbal and independent.

My daughter turned 3 two weeks ago, and I still use a baby monitor. I’ll continue to use it until she’s old enough to defend herself or even scream to call for help if needed

I used it for a while but it intercepted something once and it scared the crap out of me 😂 and I don’t trust the video ones.
