trust fund vs bank account

had my baby at 17 i just turned 18 and wanted to start a trust fund at first . then i wanted to do a bank account because i dont have a job right now to pay for the payments thwt come with a trust fund but trust funds will give my baby more money over the years . did anybody start a trust fund for their kids? how much did you put in it when you opened it up ? are your payments high
