I was sent to labor and delivery after calling my doctor concerned that my water was leaking.

They tested but it turned out just to be an excess of watery mucus.

But, since I was 39 weeks, 4 cm dilated, and had spent two weeks with contractions, they said I could stay and start a little bit of pitocin to get things going.

SO at 4:30pm, they started pitocin and I started having nonpainful contractions while I bounced on the labor ball. By 6:30, I was at 6 cm and baby had dropped so they broke my water. They monitored me in bed for an hour and then I bounced on the ball for a while. By 9:50 I was a stretchy 9 cm so I pushed through two contractions and got him through. Then I pushed through one contraction and he arrived right at 10 pm!

I had no pain meds but my labor was so easy. I don’t think I’d rate my contractions past a 7. Pushing was hard, so I’m glad it went quick! I only needed one stitch.

We are so blessed by this new little guy. 😊

Born May 3rd at 8 lbs, 9 oz, 20.5 inches long.
