Should I switch to the implant?

Could anyone with the arm implant tell me if it hurts / if it’s worth it to switch from the pill to the implant? I’m sexually active with my partner and we use the pill as our primary bc.

yessss it’s sooooo worth it. i would be paranoid about my pills failing all the time even though i take them like i’m supposed to. nexplanon is worry free, it stopped my period and hasn’t affected my sex drive

They numb the area with a local anesthetic. So, the only thing u feel during the insertion (and removal) process is the quick sting of the numbing needle & little pressure/tugging sensation. Afterwards & once the numbing wears off, ur arm will likely be sore and/or may bruise. How long u have soreness & bruising varies from person to person, but generally, bruising should go away within a few days & the sore can take up to 1-2 weeks to completely go away but should lessen day by day. For the first few days, ur not supposed to lift anything heavy (nothing heavier than a gallon of milk, if that) with the arm it’s inserted in, to ensure it heals properly.
