Should he wait for me

so my boyfriend and our friends will be going to a show on saturday. usually when we go to shows we don’t really care about the openers, just the headliners and they start performing around 12-12:30. well, the show we are going to has a good opener so we would have to leave before 11 because the venue is about 30 minutes away. well i work all day saturday and i won’t be out till past 11 and he said i may have to go on my own. it bothered me that he didn’t want to wait for me but also i understand. however we have seen the opener before, he’s really good though.

our friends most likely will carpool with my boyfriend. i’m trying to switch my shift with someone, but it might not happen. i don’t really want to drive myself, i’ve never driven over there and it’s far. also there is one part of the drive where you have to cross like 3 lanes quickly to get to the exit. should i just suck it up or ask him to wait for me?
