School lunches in US

Mi

I saw an article today about the US having too short of a lunch period. The average time that American children have to eat at school ranges from 15-30 mins. Most of them falling around the 15 minute mark. This doesn't include the time getting to the cafeteria, ordering, and finding a seat. Parents are allegedly starting to become outraged that their children have to rush to eat. They say it's creating bad habits and that most of the food gets wasted. However, school officials say that that's all the time children need and they have so many children to feed in a short period of time. What do you all think would be an appropriate amount of time from the start of the lunch bell to the next class bell?
